install a/c compressor today for sister n law car--orifice tube replace also and accumulator, flushed system and vac tomorrow

question: orifice tube--installed, pushed in line after putting pag oil on orifice so it slides better, but no matter what i did (it is the exact size as the original that i pulled out of the line) i couldn't get it in the line as far as the other. About 3/4 inch short compared to other.

I couldn't see the original one in the line, prior to pulling it out.The head of the new orifice installed just came to end of the line, (where it will connect to the other line, both having a nut that i turned to connect the two lines together) (

Why can't I get orface in as deep as the original (same size as original, lube with pag and pushed as hard as possible)?

Since orifice did not go in as deep as original will it effect the flow of liquid in the line?

scott--(hi pawpaw. Hope your doing is treating you well).

Just did my compr last week.
Orfice tube shoud just go in providing nothing in tube stopping it.
The orfice tube itself is the flow limiter so how far in it is shouldn't make a difference in freon flow in the line.
