I have 2006 taurus with a 100,000 miles,the odometer doesn't light up for last 10 years, ford garage wants 500-600 dollars to fix it said no any other ideas on how fix it?

If the green LED dot matrix display is not working either there is a bad connection or connections at the cluster connector (pull the cluster and disconnect / reconnect the cluster connector a few times, plug it back in and see if the issue goes away), the LED display has a cold solder joint (somewhat common). If you know how to solder you can remove the cluster, access the LED display and try reflowing the solder joints. Might or might not work.

There are a number of companies that will repair issues with instrument clusters for WAY less than the Ford dealer wants. Google "ford instrument cluster repair". You pull the cluster (pretty easy), send it to the company and they fix it and send it back to you.

Getting a used cluster from the junk yard wont work as the cluster needs to be programmed to the car. Not sure if you can do this with Forscan (free download) or not.
