Im hoping someone can shed some insight here. I was getting CEL codes P2196 And P2198 so I replaced all my 02 sensors and the codes went away but poped back up before I could get it inspected. The mechanic told me that the bosch sensors were known to be bad so on is advise I took them back and bought Denso sensors and installed 4 new ones. I then cleared the codes and drove 150 miles without a CEL coming on so I went to get my inspection and he said the monitors were not ready and i needed to drive more. After 25 more miles (175 miles total) the CEL came back on with codes P2196 & P2197. I have no idea were to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks , Tim

If there were never any associated P0171/P0174 codes then you're looking at a wiring problem.

BTW I don't know of Bosch 02 sensor problems, but it's true that their plugs and wires don't hold up in US vehicles.

Could these codes (P2196 & P2197) be from a failing cam synchronizer? Its been chirping for the past year.
