I have a 2000 taurus and went to go to work and seems like wheel was stuck and would jump. First I thought the breaks where frozen but not the problem since spins a little and then jumps. During further inspection i saw that the front left is hanging down about 1.5 inches furhter from the other side. Havent got a chance to look at further but is this a common problem or not. I remember there was a recall for shileds a while back. I don't think that the spring would be something I could replace since the spring and strut are compressed. Any ideas?

Your car might be eligible for free repairs under the recall. Call up your local Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealer.

My Taurus had 3 broken springs! I took it to Ford for their poor excuse for a fix (The shields). All they do is protect the tires from puncturing when the springs do break.
