I like to be cheap yet effective. I also want to keep my head unit. I dont want to have to replace a window and a radio. I know this is difficult. So I may not use the best but I would like to know what others think.

So I went ebay crazy and this is what I have so far.

Wiring:

Tsunami AMP1040D Wiring Kit - Basically I am running 0 guage to the trunk fused of course. Then it goes into a fused distribution block out to 2- 4 guage outputs.

Also, people there is nothing wrong with 0 guage to your trunk save yourself time and effort on your upgrades run the cable ONCE. But be careful! I am building this system in sections because I have bills and we are in a recession and I am a cheap audiophile. So I am preparing for my future plans by running a solid power source and a good ground. I will do the Big 3 in the summer. Amps are thirsty for power give it too em!

Door Speakers & Rear Deck Speakers:
4 - Infinity Kappa 682.9cf
4 ohms
100 watts RMS
300 watts Max

4 - Channel Amplifier
JBL 75.4 - 520-Watt 4-Channel amplifier
104 watts RMS x 4 channel at 4 ohms

I am really wondering this amp is going to perform. Any thoughts?

Thats it right now.

Phase 1- Door Speakers and Rear Deck (tommorow)

Phase 2 - (Next warm day in MO) Wiring (I want to take my time)

Phase 4- 4 Channel Amp Install using high level inputs for right now

Phase 5 - 2 Channel Subwoofer Amp Install - Maybe a Hifonics BXi-1608D
3200 Watt Mono AMP. I will install a 4 farad cap with the amp. I don't like dimming lights.

Phase 6 - Subwoofer Need Input! I want to install one KICKER S15L7 15" SoloBaric L7 SUBWOOFER but I am up for suggestions!

On down the road.....Alpine Soundprocessor (too expensive right now).

Sounds like a really good plan you have going. Great choice on door speakers, I love my Infinity's, best car speaker I have heard by far.

For your sub choice that L7 will bump like crazy, but If you are going with a 3200 watt amp I would probably go with two subs instead of just one. Either two 12" or two 15". Ive never heard two 15" L7's but I have heard two 15" CVX's which is basically the same thing and all I have to say is "WOW!!"

Looks good man, if there is anything I have learned over the years about subs in a car is always get the most high quality single driver you can, you can feed maximum airspace this way, I would look into ficaraudio.com and take a look at there BL series, they are handmade here in America and are pristine subwoofers, one 15" BL will amaze you, not onl loud as hell but thick bass tones that sound amazing... Def take a look over there and if you need help PM me, put one in a buddies Taurus and O M G... (Just make sure you have 1000 watts RMS to play with

Finally finished the phase 4 this morning. Sounds like crap I think I will buy the JBL Clean Sweep. To clean those levels up.

Make sure that you have all your cables to your speakers hooked up correctly. One speaker being hooked up reverse polarity will through the sound quality in the cabin way off. Test each speaker individually using your fader and balance controls. If the sound quality, bass quantity appears to increase when you have on speaker on as opposed to both (front or rear) then you have a speaker hooked up backwards..

Thanks I'll check it because the rear sounds really nice while the front is kinda weak. I will check on it I thought I did a good job of watching out for the polarity but I may have missed something. Thanks

I'd go with 2 12" L& they are rather good with the proper box. AND if you're interested it just so happens I have a set of 2008 versions with custom built box for sale. :makeadeal:

and a little bit of woofer porn

Nice Box! I assume you built that by hand that cool. You guys always amaze me on here. I think I am going to go with one Orion 12.2 HCCA so I can still utilize my trunk. It needs 2 cubic feet so hpefully I can still have some room.
