After waiting for several weeks, I was able to finally secure and puchase a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires (the newest version). The old version also had great reviews.

Reviews:http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...toYear=1997&autoModel=Taurus SHO&autoModClar=

I ordered the 225/55/ZR16. Now I only have the Gen IV factory allows that are 6" wide. I have seen members on here that have no issues putting them on 6" wide rim, but I may even wait and get some 6.5" or 7" rims before I mount them.

I am not a winter / summer tire guy. I prefer the all-seasons. Will get some photos once they are on my car. These tires keep going on National back order and they keep selling out once they get them in. Tirerack had fewer than 5 left when I ordered a set.

I have Falken Ziex 912 225/55R16 on the 16x6" factory aluminums. They're a little tight, but not dangerously so, so don't worry about fitment issues.

Ditto on this. I also have the 912's and went 225/55/16 on g2 SHO slicers. They rubbed a bit on turns when my alignment was off, but now that the alignment is (somewhat) back on center, I have no issues. Next are 18" wheels, but not sure what tire size I will go with.

Go <strike>235/40ZR16</strike> 235/40ZR18. It's about 0.35% smaller than the stock 205/65R15's, so it'll help your final drive ratio enough to hopefully make up for the weight of 18" rims. Plus a 235/40 will be ungodly wide.

The wheels I'm going with are very light, so no issues there. Did you mean 235/40/18?

Yes, those are nice. I am working on a brand new set now :) The original silver machine finished, not the newer ones w/ the darker contrast.

just wondering what your opinions were on putting on 215/65-16 instead of the stock 215/60-16. I know that it will throw the spedo off a bit but i do a lot of highway driving and was hoping that a little taller tire would help me get better gas mileage
