I just had some body work done on my 2011 taurus sel and they discovered a problem with the air conditioner. They promptly replaced the item in question. The car was returned to me and worked great for about a week. Last night, when I got off from work and started the car, I had no heat in the cab after 15 minutes. I started for home and the car overheated. Then my steering wheel locked up and my oil light came on. At this point I had recently replaced the oil about three weeks earlier. I checked the dipstick and found the oil to be this color. Any ideas on what could have happened?

Just a tip for you: Try posting this in the Gen 5-6 forum, you are in the Gen 1-4 forum. Yes, you have lost coolant, most likely waterpump failure on that engine. Depending how hot the engine got, you might also need head gaskets or a new engine.

Update. It was indeed the water pump. The engine needed replaced. Thank you for your help. And thank you for showing me the correct place to post threads for my car
