alright, so as many of you know, i do lawn and landscaping. when i bid a lawn, i typically just hop on google earth and use their ruler tool to measure the square footage of the mowable area. heres the problem, though: many of the jobs im bidding are 10 or more acres, and its not all in one big field. there are usually buildings everywhere (think apartment complexes). as you can imagine, measuring these can take up to 3 or 4 hours for each bid!

heres what i want: a utility that will basically measure all the green area in an image. it could display just a percentage, but i would prefer one that could actually be configured using ruler settings from google earth to find the actual square footage of the grassy areas. also, this application or utility would need to cover a preset variation of the color green, because not all greens are created equal.

is there something out there thatll do this for me?
