I have two broken motor mounts, I need help/advice on what to get, go with the liquid filled again, or go solid? Also, where can I find them? Any help is appreciated.
I have a feeling that I also have a broken mount on the front of my duratec. Question, how did you determine that yours is broken? I've crawled under ,y car and tried to look at it the best that I could, but I didn't see any cracks in the rubber. Reason I "think" mine is broken is that my engine seems to have a lot of movement when I put it in drive and slightly accelerate.
When I bought the car I replaced the clutch. It was then that I saw the mount was broken. Then after 2 weeks of driving the car pretty rough, I broke another. So now I'm going to change all three. You can tell if you have a 5 spd. by poor shifting, exhaust leaks, and as the case with mine, anytime you go over 60 mph, the car starts to vibrate and shake.
Thanks! Going back under mine today and inspect further. I have automatic and haven't noticed any shaking over 60. Looked up parts on www.fordpartsnetwork.com Prices not bad.
