Well I had gotten my codes read:

P0052 HO2S Heater Control Circuit High (Bank 2 Sesnsor 1)

PO161 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

So the guy said that I need to replace these "O2" Sensors. How do I replace the above sensors? Where are they located on my vehicle? (98 Taurus SE with Vulcan.)

Do I need any special tools?

The O2 sensors are on the exhaust Y-Pipe which comes down from the exhaust manifolds. It contains the catalytic convertors. For each bank of cylinders there is a sensor before its convertor and a sensor after its convertor. You've got codes for both sensors on bank 2. (Sorry, I have a Duratec and don't remember on the Vulcan whether the back or front bank is Bank 2.) You need a special socket. I bought mine at my local auto parts store.

I changed one on my Duratec and it was a big pain. They're hard to get out. They are also hard to unplug, at least on the Duratec, because the connectors are in nasty places. (The sensors have wires coming out of them that run up to a connector some distance away.)
