Are jbl rcu's plug and play on a 2001 sable.

I actually picked it up at no cost just wonder if it would be worth my time to remove my stock rcu to the jbl and is the jbl much better and if so by how much.

Thanks

If you just want to swamp RCU's I would say: dont waste your time.
The JBL RCU its designed to work with the 6x9 JBL selfpowered sub and you will also need the cable that supply the power and signal from the RCU to sub.

If you just plug the JBL Rcu it would sound really whimpy because JBL doesn't send Low frequencys to the rear speakers (that is handled by the sub)

Hope the helps.

Is there a way to get the subwoofer wires and set up a line out converter for subs? Or would I just be wasting my time?

It's been done. It was mentioned in another RCU thread recently.
