I have a ford taurus 1992 3.0. I had my transmission rebuilt and I have a one year warranty on it that is still active so that is why I am so concerned if this is a transmission problem. Well what happens is every once in a while, not every time I drive my car but every once in a while when I go on a highway at about 70mph by the time I get off when it shifts back into first it clunks and idles really high. If I put it into park it sounds like the engine is about to explode if I dont turn it off. But the funny thing is that when I turn it off and then back on the problem is sometimes resolved. And it may not reappear for another month or it might reappear the next day. I desperately need help on this issue so any suggestions would be helpful.
