Need Help Asap Broken Lug!?!

837 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Zack
Hey guys,

I need help ASAP...car is jacked up and wheel off...

We were driving and noticed the wheel started shaking. Upon inspection we learned that the lug nut was missing and that the lug was broken off.

It is broken off FLUSH with the rotor. How do I remove it? We tried an easy-out but that didn't work.

So basically, I need to know how to replace it and how to get it out.

This is on a 1998 Taurus.

Thanks for any of your help!

When I broke one on a Grand Am a few years back, I just hammered it out. What you have to do is take off the rotor, and then you should be able to hammer the remander of it out. Hopefully, it isn't hard to get out of the back. My Grand Am had only a 1/2 inch behind to manuver the thing out of there. Good luck.
Take off the caliper and rotor, and pound the stud out with a big hammer. When you put in a new stud, torque the lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs.
