Here's some news... just stuff that happened to me over the past week or so.

Got my SFC welded on.. $40 (for the welding) super stiff!

Got my water injection installed.. before the below incident I got an extra 50 miles out of a tank of gas, and that was driving no conservatively.
Then......
I got to Memphis, TN on Friday, had a blast, so tons of Gen III SHO's everywhere. (ton's being atleast a dozen).
I even saw a beautiful GEN IV sittin' on 19's!!!!! The guy's name is Joe he's pretty cool, wants to work on his car more etc..

All was good until Sunday, I hit a corner and it had sand all over it and I couldn't make the turn, it felt like I was hydroplaning. I ended up hitting a curb doing 35ish?...

I had to rent a ford escort to get home and go to school, I'm behind in classes now.. and being behind in architecture classes is a bad thing.

The autobody shop took almost a week before they got to the estimate. which ended up being $2665.38 (so far). Which I'm only paying my deductible which is nice. I am getting a new "engine cradle" or a subframe, so I sent my brand new Aluminum subframe bushings to them for them to put them in, which is goooood. The damages, I pretty much assessed on site like: Control arm, endlink, rim, subframe, tire. The rest was them, front bumper cover and that's all that I know of I think they included a wheel bearing, and the steering deal. I'll update everyone when I get the car back.

That's about all my news, I've just had a lot going on and thought I'd share it with everyone. I had a sinking feeling that I was gonna loose my car, but she's still with me.

I also saw a nice Gen III black SHO today tinted tail lights headlights windows.. it was sweet, third one (black one that is) that I know of in Carbondale, Illinois.

Reminds me of that video where the kid tries to powerslide around a wet corner, hits the curb straight-on from the side, the wheel just buckled right under the car

Be glad they're going to fix it and not total it or something stupid like that

Yea the control arm bent the subframe down you can kinda see it in the picture, you can definately see it from straight on.

Water injection... I ended up getting the aquatune system. I didn't do a DIY system, cuz I didn't want to take the chance of hydro locking my engine. I got 50 more miles per tank, and the car peeled out into second a couple times (which it never did before). I have been running it with a 50% water and 50% alcohol mix (90% rubbing alcohol), because the weather was below 50 degrees. I have had it in for about 1000 miles now.

For some additional information on water injection you can chec out www.aquatune.com or just type it in a search engine.

I ended up sticking with the stock plugs, as no one seemed to make copper ones for the duratec, I am told the copper may have more of a difference, but if I run out of water I don't want my engine to be running that much hotter.

I dunno if it's just me, but your post has no pictures. Just little Fortune City logos.

So that explains why I saw your car sitting up at Vogler Body Shop.

Kermit, you ever see the Silver Frost Gen 3 running around Carbondale?? The owner really needs to get it detailed before summer
If you need tires or an Alignment, the little tire shop just north of the NAPA is pretty good

I have found that sliding around curves on a dirt road surrounded by cotton fields is much safer than on streets. All the happens is that you get buried down by dirt and nothing gets hurt, except your ego

That sucks about your little accident. How much did the water injection improve your gas milage??

That's why my baby's at Vogler yup.. I have a question... The lines on the hood.. (the gap on the side) is no longer the same size like the front is closer than the back of the hood. Can that be fixed? I know it was wreck related I just don't know if that's permanent or if it'll ever ride the same again?

There are a few people in Carbondale huh? Well I think I've seen the Silver SHO once.. maybe a white one too? I saw a Green Gen II with a tall spoiler, and about 3 Gen III's in town. The black SHO with the beads hangin' from the rearview mirror, well that driver is about as sexy as the car.

Ohh yeaa...... I guess I haven't updated you guys yet. I had a hecktic time before spring break. It got worse...

I went to Memphis, TN to get my car wednesday night after class.. I was supposed to pick it up at 8am and drive hom efor a 1pm class.

So I call around 8:15am they said it'll be done tomorrow.. so I explained that I needed it TODAY because I had a midterm that Friday at 8am (which I didn't study for and I am sure I flunked).

So the car got done at 4:50pm they closed at 5pm, I test drove it... the Lines on the hood were still off, and it hummed like a banshee, I wasn't sure if that was because of the new tire or what, I glanced underneath real quick noticed the new Valance, and new strut (viewing from the front of the car.)

I was very excited to get my car back, so I paid them my deductible, went and ate, and dropped by a friends house on the way out of town. He loves my car just as much as I do.

I saw there was no wheel weight on the outside so I was reaching around the back of the tire to see if it was on the inside, and it was.. but I also found something laying directly on the tire.

So I pull up in his driveway and look under it with some big lights, and the brake housing was laying on the tire, I drove it 30 miles and it almost wore through! The bracket wasn't even attached to the strut!!!! The new splash guard had about 4 of the 8 plastic plugs to keep it in place.

So we look at the other side to see how it was mounted to the strut so we could zip tie it in place or something and noticed the brake caliper on that side was leaking oil like mad! The car was detailed by the shop, and was wet when I got it, and by this time it was dry and the nice clean rim had drops of fluid all over it.

I looked at the bumper that was "repaired" I wasn't sure what they meant by that but i guess repaired = repainted, because there was still a crack in the front bumper cover.

The subframe was replaced.. with a "recycled" subframe aka a rusty POS that was already DENTED!!! Needless to say I was pissed.

I called the insurance company, told them I had leaky brakes, (this was at 9pm thursday) and I was driving home to illinois 225miles give or take a couple, and I have a midterm at 8AM that I couldn't miss and I was going and I had them line me up with the dealership that is about 20 miles from my house which is where I bought the car from. And that's where you all saw the car.

I took my midterm, went to structures, dropped off my car, got on a plane for vegas, and had a nice relaxing week not worrying about my car, but monday all my stress will be back.

Yea that's long.. but that's a lot of SHEOT to deal with...
