well I just got back from a spring break trip to GA to have my V8's cams welded to prevent the terrible failure. while Doug was working on it he found that one of my cams HAD failed, the sprocket had slided, and it was on the verge of spinning, although it hadn't spun yet. I was very lucky, there was no sound indicating that the car was about to have a cam failure. I am still somewhat in shock about the whole thing, way too close of a call. but I was very lucky, there was no damage, and now I'm cam failure free. feels so liberating!
