i tow my sleds and my pop up camper with my 99 Taurus wagon i have a 7'8" x 10' snowmobile trailer and a pop up camper that i can not see down the sides to see if other cars are coming so i need some ideas i can see over the snowmobile trailer with my rear view mirror but when my sleds are on there forget it same as my pop up

I use a 2" convex mirror and adjust the car's mirror at the wheels of the trailer. I can't think of any problems seeing behind me. My trailer is wider than the car so my concern is keeping it on the road.

Personally, I would buy a small truck. :lol2:

But seriously, these cars are pretty crappy for towing; lousy brakes, poor transmission. You could suggest fuel economy, however most cars when pulling something have very poor mpg anyway.

I for one would not say they are crapppy....I have towed a small U-haul trailer numerous times with no problems. I have the original tranny cooler stilll and I have pulled the trailer over 350-400 miles so far on a couple of trips out of state,and more than that around town. If you pull smartly and be cautious you should have no problems. I keep the speed down and don't over fill the trailer.
I just use the existing outside mirrors, and I have no problem seeing anyone who is behind me, though I do not have a wagon.

OK, to add my two cents worth now. I agree if done correctly you shouldnt have any problems with small trailers behind these cars, but not on a regular basis either. But with what I have been seeing since installing a Gen2 SHO cooler & gauge, I would never tow with these cars without a good cooler and gauge. I have found that with no load in the car, the temp will change on up and down hill sections. I would recomend bypassing the original tube cooler, install a quality trans cooler for cheap insurance.

I fully agree that small trailers loaded lightly shouldn't be a large issue. However anything larger introduces braking and sight issues, as well as speed. Durability will be decreased. I would prefer to use a truck anyway, even if it had a little 3 litre.
