I'm thinking of replacing my coil pack, and the cheapest I've found is actually the MSD Coil Pack from SHOSource.

http://shosource.com/catalog/product_info....products_id=325

1. Obviously it is better than a replacement coil pack and it delivers more spark and such,
but will I notice an increase in throttle response? smoother idle.. etc?

2. And also, will my regular Duralast wires be ok with it?

3. Does anyone have this in their car yet? Any pics of how it looks or input on how it runs?

Thanks,
David

4. Or should I go with the Accel Coil Pack off Ebay for $59.99?

Do not waste your money on an Accel, I have made that mistake already.

On the wires, Duralast isn't even good with the stock coil, let alone a performance coil. I have some educational information here.

You will also need a plug that can match. The stock Motorcrafts will do fine, as will Autolite double platinum and NGK double platinum. You can also upgrade to an iridium plug, any of these three brands will do. The iridiums will last longer.

As to performance gains, performance ignition helps ensure that you do not loose power due to ignition problems, but they do not exactly produce power. They do compliment other performance mods very well. The MSDs do energize and fire more rapidly than a stock coil, which has the same effect as more timing advance, which can sometimes produce more power. But this is hard to predict and shouldn't be counted on.

Thanks for all of the information man. I already have Motorcraft Plugs in the engine now, I just put them in when I bought the car (about 6,000 miles ago) so they should still be just fine.

And ok, Accel is out of the picture haha - I guess i'll stick to the MSD Coil Pack sense it's cheaper and better than the stock coil pack. And your saying if I bought the MSD coil i would need to upgrade the wires as well?

You wouldn't NEED to, but it's highly recommended. I've been running Bosch wires with nothing but good things to say about them for the past 10k or so.
