Well, we kinda just got home from our Friday/Track portion of this weekend's meet and greet activities. It was Me, Russell, Mark, my brother Steve, and our friend Jason. I took my '89 Escort, Russell drove the '07? Mini, Mark had his 'ole '00(Marylyn), Steve brought the '01 GTI, and Jason drove his little beast, an '88(??not sure) MK2-GTI that has a '04 model 1.8T conversion. I would have to say that it was a success. Personally I made 5 pretty good passes with the Escort. They were progressively better each time, and I even got to race my brother in his GTI. He beat me by about 2 seconds. My first pass was one that really shouldn't be counted :p , simply because I got out of it too soon, it was slightly difficult to see the 1/4 mile marker. Any way it was a 19.4856 at 56.26, which was ok by me..... I was kinda expecting a 20+ second pass, LOL. The second one was a 19.0558 at 70.07, and the third was a 18.7961 at 71.11, against the GTI that beat me with a 16.23 at 88.29. And let me tell you.... we were about to see some major ****!!!!!!!!! He hit 88 mph and I saw sparks and lightning and ****, then it just started slowing down, I think he over loaded his flux capacitor!!!!! My fourth pass was an 18.8978 at 72.35, and the last was a 18.4501 at 73.49.. That's right!!!!! I busted down a 18.45, man I was stoked!!!!! I certainly didn't think it was capable of that. This thing has 108,346 as of tonight pulling in the drive, is completely stock, with the exception of the Stock Escort GT header I installed, and was rated from the factory, with 88 horse powerzzzz. I can scan and post time slips tomorrow, right now I'm too tired, and it's 3:00. Tomorrow is the Saturday/Hooters get together portion of the meet, so, if you guys see this that didn't get to go tonight, you certainly missed a good time. I'm sure Russell, or Mark will add to this, so might my brother, but he has to work in the morning so it might be kinda late. As for me, good night, and I'll see ya'll tomorrow.

I had a GREAT time at the track tonight. Rudy, your scort was kickin ass!! :chili:

Ole Marilyn did fairly well tonight. Nothing spectacular. I am fairly sure the car is eating coolant, but it could just be in my head. Anywho... My first run of the night was a 16.75 @ 82, right off the highway (40 mile drive to get to the track). I let the car cool down a little bit, then made some more passes. I ran consistent 16.6's at around 83mph all night, with my best run being a 16.5 at close to 84mph. The damn thing SUCKS from a dig (2.4 60' for teh lose). I was hoping for just a 16.7 (to beat my previous best), but the car surpassed it nicely. Hopefully the UDP and a good tune (and maybe if I can get it to stop eating fluids) will produce some better times. Ones that encroach on almighty duratec times. :noes:

It's still slow. Russells 118hp mini is faster (allbeit, by .1). It was a horrible grudge match all night. :lol2:

See yall at the meet saturday!
