Shop has told me that my Master Cylinder is bad; said they had a hard time getting the piston to come out of the caliper because the pressure was so low.

Alright, I am quite sure I can replace the master cylinder myself, they are anywheres from $60-$150 in cost. However, I have never disassembled one, but what would be defective internally? Are we talking about some O-rings? Is this something I could fix myself? Or should i just save the grief and just buy one?

:D It's usually a piece of cake to replace the master cylinder. Just take off the 4 lines and 2 bolts. After replacement it's all about bleeding all lines.
