Map sensors died in the 90's. Now we use MAF. "mas air flow" sensor. It has to be between the air cleaner and the throttle body.

If you stand in front of the car (right side where the air box is) you'll note a 1/4" wire conduit with a plug going into the left side of the air tube, right above the air filter. That's the guy.
