I have a friend that has a '92 SHO with a bad engine (spun rod bearing, and cam lobe damage, he bought it that way). He no longer wants the car and was going to sell it very cheap (like $400). The 5 speed trans was rebuilt and has about 50k miles on it.
The interior is trashed, exterior is ok, has some good dents (mostly roof, hail storm). The car is not worthy of spending the $$$ on a new yamaha engine. The cost of a new yamahammer way exceeds the value of the car.
Today I just found a decent '92 3.0L vulcan GL. It has about 20k on a new vulcan motor, but the trans is shot... Interior is good, exterior has some bumper damage and door damage. Cost is $200 firm
Hmmm :headscratch:
By the grace of God, every part I would need to make the exterior of the GL look good is good on the SHO (including both SHO bumpers, etc..)
I could put the MTX IV in the GL, and do everything right for less than the cost of a new AX4S tranny..
Comments, Suggestions??
Does this seem like a worthwhile project?
