Wow..... what power...... 4 Cyl POS......

but... it's nice owning a Taurus again, gotts still do a few things, one is that the seatbelts, they changed the buckle system between 87 and 89..... the buckles are a different size..... second. I've gotta get that heater core changed....... Brrrrr, with the pouring rain, it made for a chilly little drive.....

but I love my Taurus

I believe it puts out about 90 HP, though you shouldn't quote me on that because I'm not sure.

According to the Chilton manual, it puts out 88 horsepower @ 4600RPMs and 130 ft. lbs. of torque @ 2800RPMs.

Don't the 4-cyl models (not including the MT-5 which has a 5-speed manual) have a 3-spd auto? If so, I feel your pain. I used to have another midsize car with a 4-cyl and 3-spd and it sucked (it's slower than paint drying!)

Yeppers, good old ATX 3 speed Auto......... :puke:

but....... never fear, in the next couple months, there will be hopefully a Vulcan 3.0 speed in place of that 2.5 ATX....

I noticed it wasn't sitting on the driveway a couple of days ago....good to see you got it running. I'm sure we will find somebody willing to take you in their SHO at the BBQ. You will come home that night and start looking for a 3.2L right away :D

I wouldn't touch it. Its cool that its got all the SHO goodies and has the 4-Cyl. Its unique! B)

That has to be pretty slow though.. I had a 89 Tempo and was by far the slowest car I have owned. I could only imagine how it is mounted in a Taurus.

I had a 1992 Taurus Wagon with the Vulcan...and let me tell you, that was probably the slowest car I have EVER been in. I really cant imagine the 4 banger. Hows the gas milage on it, though?
