I thought it was 20 watts PEAK x4 - Not RMS. If that's the case, then it's actually what, 160 peak, right? That's like an aftermarket head unit almost.....
lol...I thought so. Actually I almost pooed myself when I read it, I'm like wait a minute.....Still, 80 watts peak is pretty good for factory, I would think.
A typical aftermarket speaker can handle at least 40-50 watts RMS, each. Component sets handle more.. Granted, old audio gear RMS wattage was probably relatively underrated compared to most modern amplifiers and head units.
Mach units started in 1997.
1996 models had the JBL systems with a subwoofer.
