Recently while turning from a stop, my Taurus will lose power as I am in the middle of a turn...??? It is like the engine continues to run and stay in the same RPM range, but the car will literally come to a stop if I do not straighten out the wheel. Once I start to straighten the wheel it feels like the torque converter locks up and I regain power. Sometimes it make a large thud/jerk. Seems to happen worse in overdrive, and only when shifting between first and second. Is it just the trans slipping while trying to shift?
