I'm looking to buy the 2010 Ford Taurus SEL AWD. I really like the car that I test drove today and it was super comfortable. It had 83K miles on it and a clean carfax as well (selling for 7995). The engine started right up with no hesitation and the temperature gauge stayed still the whole time driving. The idle was smooth and didn't really seem like it was overheating. Going back tomorrow to check out the car, but I'm aware of the Duratec engine issues with water pump and other issues with AWD.

My question is this:

Is this a good deal? if not so what should I try to aim for?
Is the water pump issue prevalent and if not how would I check it?
What else should I look for and should I invest for the extended warranty?
