The other day when it was really cold my car would not start. I had to take my parents to work. they said the passenger tire was low. when I checked it I got a reading of 8 psi. The only gas station that wounld let you use a hose had a crappy one that could only get it up to 20psi. I could not get it filled up till the next day.
It's the low pressure sensor in the tire, when it detects pressure below 10 p.s.i. it sends a signal to the LPIIS (lowpressure ignition interlock switch), disabling the engine so you won't unsafely drive around with a low tire...
There were 2 cars. HIS car wouldn't start, so he borrowed ANOTHER car (his parents' car, he just forgot the apostrophy, he wasn't driving his parents to work...) which had a flat tire on it......
as to the tire. The people that mounted them didn't do it right and they need to be remounted. They didn't seal them and the rims are aluminum.
