Lincoln Mark Viii Wheels

Ok, I remember there was some speculation in one an SHOtimes articles as to whether the Mark VIII wheels will fit on our cars -seeing as it has the same lug pattern and around the same offset - but will it? I think the hub sizes are different but I could be wrong... Anyone done this before?

Finally, anyone good with photoshop willing to change the color of THIS to black or gunmetal? (my color of choice
) I'm thinking it might look very similar to the Gen1 basketweaves people have been spraypainting black.

Thanks a lot! I'm really liking the black

Ok, I've been doing some more research about these wheels...1994 Mark VIII's (don't know what generation had the same specs) had stock 16x7 wheels, 5x108 lug pattern with a 39mm offset...that should fit a Taurus then correct? Or at least a Gen2 anyway
.

I'm still trying to look for the centerbore/ hub diameter of the Taurus. I've read that the Mark VIII's have 63.9 mm centerbores so...I don't know. I really don't want to have to get some hub rings custom made like some people have done to mount Volvo wheels onto their bulls.

Finally, here's a guy with T-bird SC wheels on his Mark. So by mathematical logic... Taurus ----> T-bird ---> Mark VIII ---> Taurus?

Edit: My half-assed photo edit of my car

mark 8 wheels wont work. i blew a tire on a pothole and my friend has one of the newer mark 8's and lent me his spare but the bolt pattern was different so i was screwed.
What year was your friend's mark 8? When you say it didn't bolt it, do you mean the lug patterns didnt match or was the tire rubbing against something?

Edit: I'm even more confused now because I've been reading some stuff over at the Mk VIII boards and one of them has Taurus rims mounted for his snow tires...

All mark VIII wheels will work. Mark pre 93 VII's were 4 lug, but all mark VIII's (93-98) were 5x108, 16x7, 39mm offset. Exact same size wheel as the thunderbird SC.

A Mark VIII is built upon the same MN12 platform as the Tbird was, and has nearly identical suspention/drive axle components.

Here's a pic of my '95 with the SC wheels:

not sure about the year but the spares lug pattern was off maybe it wasnt the rite spare in his trunk who knows
I got t-bird wheels on my car too so yeah they definatly work fine. So if t-bird is the same as Mark 8 then the wheels should fit.
Here's another photochop if I spraypaint the smaller lines in between the main spokes black...HMMM it looks *almost* like those OZ superleganza wheels...

EDIT: Looks like its pretty much confirmed that the Mark VIII wheels will fit:
Gen3 Sable with 95 Mark VIII rims...

Not that it really matters, but Mark VII Wheels are all 5x4.5" (or 5x114.3mm) not 4 lug.
Really? I thought all fox bodies cars shared the same 4x4.25 bolt pattern..
All of them do.....except the Lincoln Mark VII

Here's a stone stock Mark VII. Note the 5 lug wheels.

I wanted one of these for a while.

Wow, you learn something new every day! Thanks!

Jeramie
well, just to give a quick update on everyone who has helped me on this... Here's a quick pic of the new (to me) MK VIII wheels. Not bad for $140 with the tires included

Looks nice as it is IMO...but all of them has some of the clear coat peeling- need to paint them a new color though
. That's another thread in the making hmmm....

I'd like to thank everyone who gave me some reassurance about fitment. The TCCA does work folks!

Those wheels look like they were born on that Mercury.....nice combo for someone that has one.
Wow.. That photo of the GEN3 Sable with Mark rims is nice! When I stumbled on my good deal for SHO Slicers, I wasn't sure how they would look. They look great on my car and add quite a bit.

Good deal on the rims/tires. You can't get a set of Taurus rims for that price.
