Spoke with Len from Lentech Automatics. They are renowned for making bullitproof automatic transmissions.. Like the ones found on the fastest all out race cars in existance..

He said he can do a bullitproof AX4S transaxle for $3,200 with warranty!

That's a lot of cash but might be worth it for those who plan to be high HP!

More details to come...

That's cool! Nice find
Can they do anything with Gen 4's? *knock on wood* I don't think anybody's really had any problems with Gen 4 trannys yet though.

Thats awesome, did they have any kind of power ratings, espescially torque?

As you know i'm in the market for a new transmisson but that one is like wayyyyy outta my budget. I'm finally getting around to replying to your email from monday (sorry).
There just outside of Ottawa, Ontario (Canada not California). Not too far from me.
<--glad i have an AX4S.

This is very good to know for when i decide to get drastic with my performance mods. schweet!

Len said 350hp is not unreasonable. No mention on torque..

I think I can do my own version of a bullitproof AX4S trans that will be just as good if not better. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve

How do I know if I have a AX4S? What do the numbers and letters stand for? Also where do I look to find all of the specifications on my car. I have a 1994 Ford Taurus GL Station Wagon. I was lookin for HP, MPG, and all the other engine specifications. Thank you.

Ever go to Luskville Dragway? I think they're one of the main sponsors. There's got to be a few drag cars there running Lentech transmissions.
you know luskville?? where do you live??.i do not go to luskville, because it is in qubec, and the police just love ontario plates and every time i used to go i would get stopped so to hell with it i dont cross into the darkside.

I have a 3.0 v6 vulcan I think.
Year and color?
You could have either an AX4S or AX4N.. I hear it depends on the color of your car.. Seriously.

All 3.8's definitly had AX4S

Jeramie
Yep... 95 Vulcan here. I got the AX4N b/c my car is white!

Apparently, the trim levels and engine options only divided Taurus production into very broad groupings. In order to get a small enough share of the total Taurus production to be accomodated by the limited "extra" production capacity for the AX4N that wasn't taken up by SHO production, Ford needed to discriminate by color. Thus, the LEAST popular colors in '95 got the AX4N... or so it seems.

It's like a Hunter Green not too dark, but not light either. Thank you for all of your guy's help. I appreciate it.
