My 2000 Taurus has developed a vibration in the left front end. It is like a tire out of balance, but I had balanced. It does'nt do it all the time. Someone said CV joint but it has been ongoing for a while now, and I would have thought it to shell out by now. Could it be a strut? Any other ideas? Thanks

No, what he is saying is a tire can have a defect that makes it out of round. It can be balanced but not round and it will vibrate and shake. A road force balance can help if the tire isn't too bad.

Any loose suspension parts or steering parts can also contribute to shaking either by allowing motion, or allowing unusual wear.
