After making many trips from home to school, I've noticed a lot of semi's lit up pretty good with marker lights. I've also always had a weird facination for limos. Combining the two ideas, here's what I came up with:

along the side skirts, either on the top or bottom, have somewhere between 15-25 white LED's evenly spaced from front to back. My hope is that as i'm driving down the road, or as people walk by me, whatever... they don't see one solid line of white, but twinkling white lights instead. I want to get an elegant, classy, limo, prom night look going here. Any suggestions?

The 22uF capacitor and 47K resistor connected to pin 2 establish the frequency which is about 0.5 Hz. You can make the rate adjustable by using a 100K potentiometer in place of the 47K resistor at pin 2.

whos a whats it now? useful link, i just need to learn what all of that means...

22uF capacitor= a cap, like they use on subs, only this one, instead of storing up one farad of charge, they hold 22 micro farads, a pretty small amount

47K resistor, self expanitory

connected to pin 2, this is for the binary decoder, which is almost like a single function computer which tells which lights to go on and off, and when to do it.

establish the frequency which is about 0.5 Hz- the frequency is (inversely?) proportianal to the speed, i think, someone double check me

You can make the rate adjustable by using a 100K potentiometer in place of the 47K resistor at pin 2, what this means is that you can put, essentialy, a light switch dimmer instead of the resistor. a potentiometer is also known as a varible resistor, because the resistance, and therefore the current may be varied.

any other questions??

maybe i'll just make a few up and depending on how easy they are, i'll sell a few. or just give them to the NE chapter, which i am now a proud member of

I like it. Very innovative, Rhyno.
Got a PS image or something? Might help to lay it out in a sketch or graphic program before getting started, give you a better idea of what you want to accomplish.

Hz - cycle per second.

.5 Hz - one cycle (on to on) every two seconds.
