i have a 2000 taurus and have a question. I bought it used and it did not have the owners manual in it. What is the little wheel, knob for on the front of the drivers seat? I have spun it both ways and dont notice it doing anything.

Lumbar, it pumps up/deflates the cushion. You should notice it if you sit in the seat, turn it one way and feel the cushion push against, or stop pushing against ur lower back.

He's right. Manual lumbar control. Sit in the seat with your back up against the back of the seat and twist. You will feel it pump up or down.

It is not electronic like in the gen3?

The electronic lumbar is OPTIONAL on the gen 4. It is also available with manual lumbar, UNLIKE the gen 3, which is ONLY available with power.
