I have a 98 wagon that I've taken off the road (i.e., no plates). It has a strong engine and excellent transmission and I'd like to see it go to someone who needs one or both. How do I keep the engine and transmission limber and lubricated?

Idling is bad, but would idling to temp and holding for 5 minutes twice a week be a bad thing?

Add a can of Sea Foam to a full tank of gas, drive/idle long enough for it to reach the entire fuel system (injectors). I would start it once a month or two and turn the a/c on for a few min to lube the compressor, make sure the engine gets to temp so you burn the moisture out of the oil.

Put Stabil gas treatment in the gas tank and run it a little mix it well.

Drive car or idle until at temp and change the oil and then park it. Spray fogging oil in the spark plug holes and turn it over to spread the oil.

If you do want to start it once a week or so make sure you run it for long enough to burn moisture and fuel out of oil (probably 20-30 minutes).

Probably best to not start it at all.

Why not donate it to Goodwill or something?
