A while back, some newbie guest posted a link to an eBay auction for an article about a JMX Taurus. He then won the auction and disappeared without posting scans or telling anything about it. Well, I finally tracked down which magazine that article came out of and ordered a back issue. And today, it finally came.

My question now, is, is there a "certain" way to scan pages out of a magazine so they come out the best?

When I scan magazine stuff, you can see the color of each indvidual pixel. But that's probably the DPI is set too high or something. I usually just resize it until it looks right.

I used to be part of the International Mercury Owner's Association, and they had a short article on a JMX Sable. If I ever get a scanner, I'll scan it and post it.[/b]
Whoa, awesome. Please do. We need to get a TCCA library started because, years from now, when the Taurus has been discontinued, the proud members of the TCCA will be the only ones left to carry on it's legacy. Hey, now that I think of it, every library needs a head librarian. *raises his hand eagerly*

I believe it was a very early SHO prototype.
Nope. Keep guessing.

I'll try to walk/run over to the library tomorrow and get it scanned (I don't have a scanner).

Awesome

I can't wait to see these articles. I haven't heard anything about the JMX in a looong time. I also think the library is a good thing. Little facts/tidbits like this will eventually be lost otherwise.

I did some research on this and found that the April of 1987 issue of Car & Driver had an article about the JMX Taurus - so I called them and they are sending me a copy of the article for free (probably because I am a subscriber, but still)!
But I still don't know what it is!

The front end looks like something the Gen1 SHO shouldve had - slightly more aggresive lip and all. I think what would be really nice is the JMX front end and rear with SHO rocker panels...Anyone know if JMX is still in business and if they would be willing to make a 2nd run ?

I am in Houston .... see what I can find.
Check my articles for his name. I already reversed the number; it no longer belongs to him. If you can track him down please tell me; I'd love to conduct an interview.

Here they are. Quality is kinda crappy on the big ones because I had to resize them to make them dial-up safe. If anyone wants the full images just PM/email me.

look at pg.3 the bottom car (profile) do those NOT look like gen 2 tail lights!!!??
If you compare the height of a gen 1 and a gen2, the gen 2's are shorter.
