I've got a 96 GL with 259k on it. I recently put 56 dollars in it (13.5 gallons) and the fuel gauge stated that it was full. I drove 365 miles on it between a good mix of city and highway driving. 60 of those miles were driven with the fuel light on. I was trying to run it completely out of gas but decided to fill up before that happened because I heard that could damage your fuel pump. Is that about as good as I can expect for a vulcan? I feel as if I could of gotten 20-30 more miles on it but I wasn't so sure.

how many gallons did it take to top it off AFTER you drove the 365 miles?

Fill it - drive it - top it off -
then divide
miles-driven by gallons used (the number of gallons to top it off)
= MPG

I have a 96 GL. If I drove 365 on 1 tank I would have a party! I average 17-21 mpg depending on all the factors... But i do have a torque converter that fails to lock as well as a few other tranny issues...

I've got a 2000 wagon and I just put $73. worth of gas in it yesterday, I was shocked, but typically I get close to 28 MPG (imperial) 10.4L/100Km from this vehicle and drive 525 K's before the fuel light comes on. Gas was $.12999/liter.
