AFAIK, all the FFV motors have the bigger injectors (otherwise they wouldn't be FFV, b/c they couldn't pump the E85 at the required higher rate.) I'm not sure how the PCM knows to react to the different fuel... I'm guessing there is a sensor in the fuel regulator or somewhere in the system that analyzes the alcohol content of the fuel. At any rate, I think that given that you have the bigger injectors, the PCM will allow them to pump at the higher rate any time that the engine requires it. So if you added nitrous or a blower or something, I would think the injectors would "rise to the occasion" based solely on the stock PCM programming.

Well, im not 100% sure that it is running lean.  I know that when I put anything less than premium unleaded gas in my car, it pings like a bee-otch.  What would that mean?
It means it's a vulcan.[/b]
A Vulcan with carbon in the combustion chambers. Time for Techron.

I suppose it is time to give the engine a good once over with some super good fuel cleaner and some pre-mi-um gas. This is what I get for buying a company car. The thing had to suffer through 3 years of regular gas only.
Now that the car is in my caring hands, the engine shall be squeaky clean inside and out.[/b]
You don't need premium gas. It looks like you resolved the pinging, so I would run regular only. Lower-octane gas has more energy per unit mass (or volume) so it's actually better to run regular if you can do it w/o pinging or having the knock sensors pull back your timing advance. Some good decarbonizer (fuel additive like techron or a similar product) can't hurt.
