Amazingly, investigators also say that themassive dent left on the side of the SUV, caused by the impact of the crash, created a hallow space that keept Tegtmeyer from being crushed to death as the vehicle rolled over him.
Wow, someone was watching over that guy. All my friends get annoyed at me because I wait until the light says walk before I cross. Guess I'm not paranoid after all.

There's a gen 2 wagon sitting at the light too.

Yeah, that's crazy. One thing which I dont understand, the PT ran the red light, but why was that guy crossing when traffic in the other direction had the green?

The driver of the PT cruiser was 75 years old.

I feel for old people, and hate to take any freedoms away from them. But, this stuff happens way too often.

I'm not saying that i know for sure that this accident is a result of her age, but I think she should be retested to see if she still is capable of operating a vehicle safely. I really think we need to get proactive with these kind of tests also.

I remember when I went for a ride with my 70+ year old grandfather. He should not have been driving at all. I white knuckled the short trip we took, then called my mom and told her that she needs to go take his license from him. He was not happy at all. We had to physically take his car keys. got the neighbors over to let them know what was going on. They all stepped up and gave him rides wherever he needed to go. But, my grandfather felt like less of a man that day, I know.

It was a sad thing we did. But it had to be done.

We had a similar experience with my grandfather. We took his keys at age 83. The man drove all his life, worked as a mechanic, and even drove for a living. Cars were more than just a means of transportation, they were a very important part of his life.

So when we decided to take his keys away, it was almost like we had taken some of his life away with them. It was very sad, and he died a couple years after that.

Wow thats sad to see that kind of accidents ... that happens when someones runs the lights cuz they feel in a hurry and not wanting to stop and wait patiently the light. Well, its kind not surprise me since I live in Miami and the people here drive crazy in the streets. Everyone here have to be looking like everywhere cuz we wouldn't imagine what will happen. Thats crazy
