I have a 2001 ford Taurus with the 3.0 pushrod engine. 73k miles on it. There is a idle squeak that is not coming from the front of the engine. Its coming from the back of engine next to the transmission with the car in park. Anyone have this problem?
Check your camshaft synchronizer. Is a common issue on the vulcan engine. And a possible engine destruction if you ignore the problem and continue driving it as the synchronizer drives the oil pump.
I don't know if my problem is related but last Saturday I heard strange squeaking sound which sounds like old belt that seems to come from the engine on my passenger’s side.(happens when I stop my car). As soon as I hit the gas pedal this sound is go away. Auto repair diagnosis sorts of tell me that it's the water pump but I'm having doubts. Please advise..
