My '90 Taurus 3.8L bottoms out on larger sized speed bumps or entering/exiting semi-steep driveways. It's only the front end that has the problem.

How can I tell if I need new struts or new springs? I'd rather avoid buying both if I can since money is tight.

I think the front end rides a little low all the time and I think it's a little bouncy after going over speed bumps, not too severe though and not a rapid bounce.

Thanks!

How long do u plan to keep the car?? is it gonna be front struts or all 4?? gonna stay stock or go upgrade on struts?? all good questions and u need to answer all of them before u proceed. I would upgrade to the Police struts on all corners if it was me, but then again, I don't ever plan on selling my Gen 1 either.

stock Motorcraft strut for 90 Taurus 59.96 each

gr-2 for 90 Taurus 48.00 each

stock motorcraft for a 93 SHO (they fit) 59.72 each

here are the options, but get new mounts and bearings no matter what you choose
