I Need A Wheelwell Pic

I am doing a true custom cai for my gen 3 vulcan, now I remember seeing some pics of several wheel wells b4 they changed the site, could someone PLEASE post a few pics of their wheel wells of their GEN 3 I would really appreciate it, thanks a bunch!- Taurus8916

Is this your car. I was wondering if the MAF had to be moved to the fenderwell? Would it be less likely to become contaminated if it were not moved?

I kept my MAF in the same place when I did mine. Not sure what the diff. is. Other than location.

Also, when you take the inner fender well out you should get down in front of the car to look if you can see through the front bumper all the way to the well. My bet is it is obsrtucted with plastic like mine was. I recomend taking as much of that out as you can. After the instalation I could look through the bumper and see the filter far back.

Less plastic=more air flow=happy car=happy driver

Mine was alot like Pauls. I also went with the rubber 90. This is the secret behind the entire project. It lets you snake past the battery and help get your proper position. Of course this is the secret of the 3" PVC do it yourself CAI. I am not sure about the secrets of the dryer hose method, custom bent metal tubing method, or the so called in the motor bay with a heat shield method.

Just never understood the last one.

Thanks for the pic, Im aint using PVC...... I order two "polished" air intake tubes that Im 90 pecent sure will fit, they are both 3 inches in diameter, I cant wait! I also bought a nice weapon R dragon filter witha bolt on ram air kit from weapon r, I should see some nice gains outta that! Thanks !!!

My MAF is not back to nearly the OEM position. A bit closer to the TB but no longer in the fenderwell. The rubber plumbing elbows are great for going through the hole in the fender. And attaching the filter too depending on what size elbow and filter you have.

WIth my CAI, I cut the opening from the engine bay into the fender well parger, so that I could use a regular pvc street 45. painted the 45 black, and it looks stock.

I don't want nor have the stock look. In fact I took it to the dealer for some emergency work this summer and they refused to work on it......

out of curiosity... what reason did they give you for refusing to work on it??
