I was surprised this morning by a exhaust leak coming from the engine compartment. I started the car and it went VRrrrroooom!
It isn't real bad, It only rattles at 1100rpm. Probibly was caused by driving around all day yesterday in the fresh snow and salt.

Do you think they can weld the crack or hole or am I going to have to buy a new y pipe? Is this common?

Yeah, muffler guys can weld up cracks and holes no problem. Let me guess, the hole is on the bracket of the y-pipe? The guy welded mine up for free when I went in to get my cat-back done. But if you're going in just for the weld, they'll probably charge you for an hour of labor, even though it takes about 3 minutes to put it on the rack, weld it, and drive off.

so what is that going to run me? about 50 bucks?
that's about all Midas charged me to weld my flowmaster on, so I wouldn't expect it to be more than that. Any of those quick little chain muffler shops would probably be able to do it pretty cheap.
