yaaayyyyyyyy, got her back from the repair shop. total repair cost was all of $2700 and some change, i think, so i'm not completely sure why it took almost 2 weeks to get it fixed.

first i drove by (i had to fill up the rental before taking it back) and my jaw dropped. the front of the car looked brand new, and didn't even look like mine. yay for new tauraedor (sp? lololz) red paint-matching was very good, also. whoever this guy is, i like his work. i'm going to try and clay and wax this weekend, so i'll put up pics then

Congrats on getting your car back. Lets see some before and after pics!

Also, Toreador red was on the Gen III...Matador red is on the Gen IV. Matador red is a little darker than Toreador red.

Toreador red was offored on gen 4 taurus untill 2001 than Matador was offerd untill 2003 and 04 was chaneged to merlot

Probably shouldn't clay and wax the brand new paint just yet... they generally recommend allowing 30 days for it to cure... better check with the shop first! That's what mine told me when I had some painting done...

30-90 days before you wash or wax your car.. as told to me by my "other" body repairsman.

Cool, it's like that new car excitement feeling. i think easy washing
perhaps plain water no hi pressure would be ok, no scrubbing or waxing.
