I have a 2001 Vulcan powered Taurus. Everytime I turn the car off there is this humming noise, kind of like you get when you turn a vacum cleaner off. The noise last for about five seconds. I've never heard this before on any other car. Is that some component with a slightly delayed shut down?

Yes it is the radiator fan spinning down. Put the AC on floor first then turn it off, it should not then make the noise.

Maybe the Flux Capacitor under the dash?

It happens at all times of the year ..not just with the AC on. It last just a few seconds. I know the cad. converters sometimes make ticking noise when the engine is shut off, but this sounds just like a vacum cleaner being turned off. ...that swooshing noise.
