I stumbled across this website today and thought I'd share it with other members.

I was looking at buying a set of tires at the local Discount Tire store for $108 each. Their "direct" online store sells the same tire for $8 less per tire, doesn't charge sales tax and ships them to you for free.

At the store the price out the door was - $525.41
The http://www.discounttiredirect.com price is $404 (plus the $40 I'll spend to have them mounted and balanced at another local store) - $444

Total savings - $81.41

I like to buy my tires locally.

I never have to pay for a flat
I never have to pay for balance
He always has time to add nitrogen if I need it.

I pay maybe 5-10 percent more on initial purchase but it is well worth have a good relationship with a local store.

mwt, nothing wrong with that! :)

I guess, I don't buy tires often enough to establish a relationship with any one tire dealer. I live in a larger city so that could be part of it.

Anyway, my tires came two days after I phoned the order in. I've a happy camper.
