Was referred here from the Escort site I frequent. My family just bought our third Ford, a '95 wagon with 63k on it, loaded, with the 3.8L, for about 4k. I've had good luck with the third gen Escort (my first car) and our F-150 is still going strong with 150k on it. The Taurus isn't my personal car but I've been given permission to do stuff to it, as long as I don't go wild. Figured I might as well drop by this place. Also looked over the regional section, didn't see where Missouri fit in, if you live near St. Louis, holla! :D

Hi, welcome to the club! :tcca: You'll love it here. We're just a big happy family.

It sounds like you got a great deal on that car. What color is it?

If asked, you've got a G2 (2nd Generation) Taurus with the Essex (the 3.8L OHV V6). Hopefully the head gaskets won't blow on ya since that's a common thing on that motor. Getting a tranny cooler will help with the infamous tranny failures know on these cars. Heat is the thing that kills it.

This ID guide might help on different generations and motors: http://198.165.58.61/revo/member/qwerty/BullID/Basic.html

Welcome :)

Did you come from feoa.net? I just registered over there :) I have a 95 tracer as a beater, and my first car was an 86 escort :)

Yeah, I'm from FEOA (same name on there), I own a 97 Escort LX Sport. The wagon's white, flawless paint job. It's not sitting in our driveway yet though. -.- I'll get some pics up on my car domain site when it is. For now I've got my car and our truck on it. (Truck needs body work, but it's good mechanically.)

I had a 1998 Escort SE a few years back, I traded it for my 1997 Sable. It was the first car I bought brand new. That 2.0L SPFI is a very reliable engine, but noisy.

... Damn. My SN is /from/ something? That's awesome. No, it's not, I've been using it since I was like 13 on various video games. (I'm 20 now.) But throw me a link or something, if I can find it, watch it, and like it, the next person who asks that might get 'yes' as an answer. :D

Okay, some of these older cats better chime in on this and back me up!

"With the help of ex-convict Mark McCormick, retired Los Angeles Superior Court, Judge Milton C. "Hardcase" Hardcastle decided to track down two hundred defendants who walked out of his court room on technicalities."

I guess it's just called the Coyote, but I could swear I saw "Coyote-X" on a plate in the show. Eh.
