It looks like the whole front end of the car needs to come off to reach the washer fluid pump. I had intermittent washers since I bought it, not they do not work at all. Any suggestions? On all my crown vics (poilce interceptors) it was always the pump that was bad. Never a switch or wires.

On many cars you can loosen the bottom of the black plastic inner fender liner to access?
Yes. Right hand side. Turn the wheel. It's doable. If you're like me, you'll get fluid everywhere.

^+1. Iirc, just crank the wheel to the left and remove/loosen 2-3 bottom push pins. You can drain/save with a hose and clean drain pan/bottle or you can be fast swappin' old/new. Become a creature of stealth, lol!

I love fords service manual....
1.) Remove electrical plug.
2.) Remove rubber hose.
3.) Remove washer pump.

Got it swapped out, and it was the pump that failed open, thankfully not the wiring or other issues. Ohms out as open.
