Ok, here's the deal. Thinking of grabbing one of those round reusable freeflow filters. Well I'm going to for sure. I was thinking instead of routing a CAI into the fender, why not just put a small, 1 or 2 inch tall scoop or induction on the hood? I could seal it up and get it done fairly easy. Just something big enough to allow air in, but keep the water from soaking it. Kind of like the turbo scoops on the 80's Dodges and some of the newer Mitsu's. Would probably look quite a bit like the "power bulge". It would be way different and still allow cold air, and if I make an opening in the front, then at the higher speeds I would have just a bit of force going in. I know to compensate for aerodynamics and such so I don't end up with a stagnant air pocket, thats easy. However looking for some more opinions on this matter, what do y'all think?

Well two concerns come right to mind...One being the aesthetics, of adding a "scoop" or induction hood, verses the power increased fromt the addition...Secondly, the difference in power gain between a CAI, and the "scoop" induction. Just some thoughts.

I thought about those. I think the scoop would look good. Also speaking from experience, there is plenty of cold air up over the hood too. I could even seal it so it's kinda like a RAM Air. If it wasn't for the radiator and such I'd make the grill my intake HEHEHE. I see you voted for the turbo style scoop though. LOL.

Actually I retained my vote until I got your reply, but I think maybe a cowl induction type would solve both problems, as long as it isn't too tall. But I vote for the CAI.

i say go for the scoop setup - it would be different and unique.
Ditto. Done correctly, I think it would set the car apart.

Well MRCow, we'll see what happens. Your's is the Black G1 right? If so yeah I've seen it. Looks mean. I'd just do the one side myself, call it a personal preference. On this car for the look I'm after I'd do it on just the one side. If i had a G1 SHO or police Taurus I'd do a pair for certain. I think Sprager's Police Taurus would rock with a pair of them.

Actually, fantacmet, my G1 is maroon w/a bra, but I do know the black one you speak of. It only had one scoop. My car has the pair (same style scoop) and looks relatively similar to the one you're thinking of.

Actually last pic of the black on I saw had two on it. Unless it was a different one. Still it'll stand out. Got Spragers third brake light mod done. PIcs as soon as the car is running again. Difference is I amsked it off and used paint, sprager used posterboard. Of course after looking at it, I think it looks just as good as Spragers when the light is going but when it's off I think his looks much better.

Ok, well Troper8, if you could please lock down the poll, I've mademy decision. I'm going with the votes. That was my primary reason for the pole, whichever one y'all voted on is what I was gonna do. I'm going with the hoodscoop. I have a bit of bodywork to do first, but I should have it installed within a month or two. I also have some other things to do first, but it is going to be going on there this summer.

Thank you to those who voted and even more thanks to those who left comment. I really do appreciate this.
