Anybody else having this problem with hood insulation? I have a 2003 SE and this car has only 7500 miles.
While changing the oil today....I noticed that the hood insulation in about 5 or 6 places, looks like it is shrinking, torn and sagging! I have to think that this is a defective part and wonder IF it will be replaced under the factory warranty. I would think so.
I have had cars with 100K miles and 10 years old look much better than this. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem on a late model Taurus?

Something doesn't sound right. My 01 has 42k miles on it now and I don't haven't had any trouble with that. I am sure they will fix it under warranty. Hope they fix it for you

Don't feel bad, the ENTIRE HEADLINER was replaced on mine a few months after delivery. Ford seems to have a tremedous amount of quality control problems as I've had an enormous amount of annoyance type problems. I'd like to go to the factory in Atlanta and directly have a meeting with someone there who would be willing to listen to my suggestions for better quality control.

I think it has been mentioned a few times that quality control seems better at the Chicago plant. I know for sure that people have mentioned the paint is much better on cars from the Chicago plant. Mine was built in Chicago btw

As for issues, 24k on my car and I have none

I did take my '03 SE to the dealer and yes...they will replace the hood insulation. I have a friend who also has an '03 SE....his with 8K miles. I told him to check his and sure enough....same spot, same problem. He's off to the dealer for that and for front rotors being warped. My rotors were turned at 311 miles.
