I have a 2000 3.0 FFL. It has a misfire above 4000 rpm when enagaging a downshift to pass at 60+ mph, and the same thing happens when climbing a steep hill at 55+ mph. The mis-fire is pretty violent. It hasn't thrown any codes. I haven't tried it with a scanner attached. It used to do it more frequently at lower loads. It got much better after replacing the cam sensor. It now only happens at the extreme situations mentioned above. When I replaced the cam sensor, I just unbolted the old one and installed the new one. Is there a timing issue when installing the new one?

Any other suggestions?
