High pitched tone from under dash

Yesterday a high pitched tone started coming from under the driver side dash area. It is steady in volume and pitch. I disconnected the battery in hopes of resetting it... no luck. No warning lights or anything and everything is working properly. Any thoughts?

Video?

Is it only when engine running or does it also occur with Key On Engine Off?
Both scenarios ...KO/EON and KO/EOFF. I took the bottom dash panel off and stuck my head in as far as I could but couldn't isolate the source, other than being in the right area...
And you've ruled out the sound of the fan from the humidity sensor near the key/push button start?

Well its interesting, because it stopped...but it wasn't a fan type noise...it was a high frequency steady tone...almost like a ringing in the ears...if you know what I mean.
Record it next time it occurs. The IPC can make such a noise, technically, at least in 13+.
IPC? as in the dash (speedo, tach, etc.) is this a purpose built sound or an unfortunate side effect form all the electronics in the car?

This is what it sounded like...and I hope it never comes back.

and be careful watching this
The IPC can make that sound through it's speaker, and has during self-test.

Given the car is a 2011, check for low voltage at the battery. Battery may be shot causing general goofiness.
Brand new battery, so I can rule that out...sound definitely wasn't coming from the speakers so for now...hope it never comes back!!!

...thanks for the ideas though!
Keep in mind that the IPC has its own internal speaker. But I hope it doesn't come back either!
if you can find 5K dog whistle...that's the annoying sound.
When I'm at a computer tonight I'll post the IPC solid tone. I forced a self test and recorded it.

So the sound is back, battery is a week old.

The tone is very close to 4.1KHz frequency, 20Hz to 20kHz (Human Audio Spectrum) at the 1.51 minute mark.

Have you had any luck fixing this? I currently own a 2014 Taurus and I have the same issue. Even the dealers didn't recognize the sound or know how to fix. I'll take any help I can get, it's driving me insane.
I know this is an old post. Just had the same high pitched noise start on my 2015 Taurus. It's the cabin air temp sensor (p/n:EG1Z19E616A). It's the three slots next to your start/stop button.
