Okay so this is my first attempt at replacing the Sparkplugs in the 97' Taurus SE, 24V DOHC. I was able to remove Sparks 1,4,5,6, But 2 and 3 seem to be in a more difficult spot to reach in the back. I'm not sure, but it looks like in order to finish the job i need to remove something. Which i believe is the Intake Manifold. Is that right? or okay to do so?

thanks for any and all help :)

You can try removing the plastic molding below the wiper arms if you don't want to take the Upper intake manifold off. If you take the upper intake manifold off be sure to buy a plenum gasket set. The set costs about twenty dollars.

If you choose to remove the UIM, which I would recommend, pick up a new PCV valve and replace the one you currently have, it is located under the UIM on drivers side.
